Episode 1: Foamhenge

It’s human nature to want to be just a little bit different. To make your own mark or leave behind a legacy. But for some people, being a little bit different takes a turn toward a little bit weird. Notoriety comes in many forms, and scattered across America are the passions, quirks, odd choices, art, relics and projects that tell a story of wanting something a little different. Some sit proudly along Main Street, passed by thousands of people every day. Others are hidden on country roads, tucked high on mountains or locked inside museums, lost to any chance encounters..

I’m talking, of course, about roadside attractions. Giant creations, miniature art, odd collections and pieces of history. Markers that tell a story about an artist, a town, a time, a passion.

And my family? We want to see them all.

Welcome to the first episode of findMORweird.

This week, we’re heading off the beaten path in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The last place you’d expect to find one of the world’s most famous wonders.
